POSTAL 4: No Regerts (stylized as POSTAL4 No Regerts) is the fourth title in the POSTAL series. It was released in Early Access on October 14th, 2019, with version 1.0 released on April 20th, 2022.

Plot[]

Several years after Paradise Lost, The Postal Dude and his loyal companion, Champ, drive aimlessly through the scorching deserts of Arizona looking for a new place to call home. During a gas station rest stop, Postal Dude has his car and trailer stolen, leaving him with nothing but his bathrobe. Needing cash, they head for the nearby town of Edensin to find work, and hopefully, his lost home.

What follows is five days of misadventure working for five different bosses: Joseph Bellow, the friendly (but creepy) employment agent, on Monday, El Plago, the brutal and Bane-inspired leader of the Mexican Cartel, on Tuesday, Mike J, the bidet-loving mayor of Edensin, on Wednesday, Vince Desi, the capo of the Syndicate, the local mafia, on Thursday, and The Boss, the enigmatic kingpin that controls Edensin from the shadows, on Friday.

Gameplay[]

Following in the footsteps of POSTAL 2, POSTAL 4 is an errand-based first person shooter with levels divided into days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Each day, the Postal Dude is given a series of jobs (known as "errands" in POSTAL 2) to complete. These jobs can be completed either through lethal or non-lethal means. In addition, optional side errands are available to the player which can be completed for cash, and random encounters are available to complete for additional rewards. As the player completes errands, more of Edensin opens up for them to explore.

The whole of Edensin is divided into nine districts: Prison, Residential, Riverside, Historical, the Zag, Affluent, Border, Commercial, and Industrial.

Trivia[]

  • The first cover and the Dude's design are a homage to The Big Lebowski, in which the main character, Jeffrey Lebowski, also goes by the name "The Dude".
  • According to the FAQ on Running with Scissors' website, the game originally started life as a remake of POSTAL 2 known as "POSTAL 2x2".
  • Originally, the coaster model for the Womb Coaster had a baby with its penis flapping and exposed, but this was removed by the team before they finalized the in-game map due to their stances on what sorts of content are and are not okay to have in a game (anything to do with violence/sex and children or interactive sexual assaults).
